We now have less than a week in completion of the 2016 summer session Kean University's Writing Project (KUWP).

I arrived to class Monday at 8:55am.

I was not feeling well. I was considering staying in bed then at the last minute I reconsidered.

As I walked in the class  with my good morning greeting, Kim, Stephanie  & Marykate was leaving the room. Colin, Deb, Andaiya, and myself remained in the class. Quanesha Came in dropped off her bags and left back out.

I began a discussion on how I was not feeling well. I thought maybe I was coming down with a cold due the  my work environment. The air condition is always set high. Deb jumped right in and agreed as she shared her experience.

That discussion lead to our class assignments . How? Who knows but we rolled with it by exchanging some requirements regarding the TIW's. The discussions were all over the place and I was not able to keep up. Our discussion went from coordinating our clothes to match our complexion to how much we didn't like our passport and driver license pictures.

It  was now 9:05am and the gang was all present. More conversations to track great this should be fun. I had no ideas how fast my one figure can type but as I expected I missed a lot.

Then Kim and Andaiya left the class to have a conference after Kim passed out paper with the heading of "Kean University Writing Project Teaching Demonstration / Exploration notes”. It was regarding an assignment to reflect on the TIW’s presentations.

The conversation began again and of course it was all over the place and again I was not able to keep up.There was a conversation concerning  our tuition fees and when they were due caught my attention. I didn’t recall hearing the answer. I guess I can assume this semester is not free.  More conversation regarding assignments  then individual group conversations began to take place.

It was now 9:25 and Kim and Andaiya is back!

Stephanie pass out and presented her TIW. It was title “Woman's Rights to the Suffrage & Ain't I a Woman”. It regarded the upcoming presidential election and woman’s right. It included African American Historical icons. It was a great plan that was very well put together. I will definitely attempt that plan when I become an educator.

Then Colin suggested to Skype Imogene into the class.  Then before I knew it he was sharing an advertisement about Free slurpy day at 7 eleven. Imogene was never Skype in. I am not sure why. I guess I missed that also.Again the conversations were all over the place. I still had no idea why Imogene was not Skype in.

A couple minutes of conversation regarding elections and politics followed by Stephanie suggesting to  never talk about politics. I am so confused. I began to wonder if I was the only one confused. I'm sure I missed something in between all of that.

Then Marykate presented her TIW . It was concerning the book " Among the Hidden" a very interesting concept. It was very well put together. I had learned a lot.

Then we took a small break and analyzed Stephanie black history t-shirt. She uses it in her class to kick off black history month. I thought that was so cool. It had a couple of African American historical icons and a couple words regarding their success; including  Harriet, and Maya to name a few.

Then more assignment conversations while Quanesha passed out her materials for the Authors’s chair. Quanesha took the Arthur's Chair and presented her poem title “Watermelon Heart”. It was About her broken and recovering heart. I thought it was authentic and very well written. It kind of kicked off laughter in the class, which was great!

The conversation went left again but this time it went all the way left and we were talking about my favorite conversation sex! Who knew the conversation will go so left that we will discuss sex in class.

That conversation lead to Colin attempting to persuade Deb to see the man in him. She only insinuated the boy in him twice but who's counting. Then I felt the need to advise Colin that it was a " Woman's " world , well at least in this class.

Somehow we were back talking about sex but this time it was involving fruits. Woowee Colin suggested writing a poem about “50 shades of fruits”. There were other fruits involved but I was too busy  laughing about the previous fruits I missed it. And just think I was going to stay home Monday. I am so happy I didn't.
